Awamary Lowe-Khan currently serves as the Interim CFO for The Alliance. With over 25 years of executive experience across finance, tech, nonprofits, and international development, her expertise includes strategy, finance, CDFIs, operations, education, gender, leadership, and policy. As an independent consultant, she works with international clients on strategy, resource development, risk compliance, and finance. Previously, she was EVP, CFO, and COO for Carolina Small Business Development Fund, where she managed social financial impact and operations. Her notable achievements include founding North Carolina’s Black Entrepreneurship Week and co-founding PointClick Technologies. She has been featured in Forbes Africa and Business Chief, recognized by NBC Washington, and awarded Leaders in Diversity by the Triangle Business Journal. Awamary has served as Regional Finance Executive for The American Red Cross and CFO for Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities. She is the Founder and President of The Woman Boss, a global platform dedicated to empowering women and girls through entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and gender equity. She is a sought-after speaker, advisor, and board member for numerous organizations. Awamary holds an MBA from Upper Iowa University, has completed executive education at Harvard and Duke, and earned her Bachelor’s from Shaw University. Her dedication to empowering women and girls and driving global change is reflected in her extensive work and achievements.
