About the African American Equity Scorecard

The growing racial wealth gap in the US is a systemic issue that has disproportionately affects Black families and communities of color. The African American Equity Scorecard is a response to this crisis, and a means of holding organizations accountable for their impact on Black communities.

Developed by the African American Alliance of CDFI CEOs and Community Vision, the Scorecard is a learning tool that guides investments and accountability by quantifying a project’s impact across five areas: wealth building, leadership support, access to land, culture and place keeping, and racial equity.

Using the Scorecard, organizations can learn about their impact on Black communities and elevate their approach to racial equity. The experience of completing the Scorecard can have a transformational effect on organizations, helping them to understand impact, view their work through a racial equity lens, and identify opportunities for disruption and institutional accountability.
