The Alliance serves Black-led CDFIs Nationwide. Founded in 2018, The Alliance has grown with 56 Black-led community development financial institutions (CDFIs).

We elevate the voices of Black community leaders by serving as a thought-leader for CDFI public policy issues and engaging in research that are in the best interest in the of Black CDFIs’ sustainability and stakeholders

We offer two membership options for Black CEOs who are committed to our mission and are actively involved in the community and economic development. By becoming a member, we support and empower you and your organization to lead and grow your institutional operations, teams, and social impact.

The Alliance Associate Membership is open to Black-led organizations that meet the criteria as follows:
- A documented 501c3 nonprofit or for-profit mission aligned with a recognized Board
- Has been in operations for at least one year*
- Has a lending product or planning the design of a lending product and support service necessary to becoming a certified CDFI
- At least one dedicated staff member is responsible for planning, managing, and designing the organization’s efforts
- Committed to the mission and purpose of the Alliance
- Commits to all Alliance specialized webinars and training such as CDFI “101”
Actively involved in community economic development, including small business lending, commercial real estate, venture capital, housing, technical assistance, and related activities.
*Organizations meeting all the criteria listed except for being in existence for a year will be accepted and presented for approval.

Alliance Membership
Alliance members are Black-led CDFI-certified organizations committed to the mission and purpose of the Alliance and actively involved in community and economic development, including lending, public policy, technical assistance, housing, commercial real estate, and related activities.

Associate Membership
Alliance Associate Members are Black-led organizations on their journey to become a certified CDFI. These organizations have solid foundations and are active in products that make them eligible to become a CDFI. They’re committed to the mission and purpose of AAA and are actively involved in community and economic development, which includes lending, public policy, training, technical assistance, capacity-building, organizational development, and related activities.
