With a targeted focus on Black-led CDFIs, The Alliance is the first and only organization to create opportunities and cutting-edge best practices for Black-led CDFIs to collaborate, learn and succeed together.
The Alliance serves Black-led CDFIs Nationwide. Founded in 2018, The Alliance has grown with 104 Black-led community development financial institutions (CDFIs) and community development organizations.
We elevate the voices of Black community leaders by serving as a thought-leader for CDFI public policy issues and engaging in research that are in the best interest in the of Black CDFIs’ sustainability and stakeholders
Utilize research tools to elevate the disproportionate investment in Black-led CDFIs, and to advocate for a redistribution of capital flow to these CDFIs.
Support to help lead and grow their institutional operations, teams, and social impact.
Access to webinars and educational opportunities to help members build capacity and grow their CDFI.
Our members cover all 50 states and are focused on various sectors, including small businesses, affordable housing, commercial real estate development, education, and health.

We offer two membership options for Black CEOs who are committed to our mission and are actively involved in the community and economic development. By becoming a member, we support and empower you and your organization to lead and grow your institutional operations, teams, and social impact.

Alliance members are Black-led CDFI-certified organizations committed to the mission and purpose of the Alliance and actively involved in community and economic development, including lending, public policy, technical assistance, housing, commercial real estate, and related activities.

Alliance Associate Members are Black-led organizations on their journey to become a certified CDFI. These organizations have solid foundations and are active in products that make them eligible to become a CDFI. They’re committed to the mission and purpose of AAA and are actively involved in community and economic development, which includes lending, public policy, training, technical assistance, capacity-building, organizational development, and related activities.
The Alliance Associate Membership is open to Black-led organizations that meet the criteria as follows:
Actively involved in community economic development, including small business lending, commercial real estate, venture capital, housing, technical assistance, and related activities.
*Organizations meeting all the criteria listed except for being in existence for a year will be accepted and presented for approval.
The Alliance Associate Members receive:
