Somala Diby is a Sr. Program Director at the Alliance, leading the organization’s new Alliance Housing Initiative. With nearly a decade of experience in urban planning, solidarity economy work, and affordable housing development, Somala Diby is a versatile and accomplished professional who values moving at the speed of trust. Her passion for alternative economic systems and housing reform drives her work, always putting collaboration, partnership, and meaningful relationships at the forefront. As an agile and enthusiastic project manager, she excels at efficiently turning ideas into action, and has done so in academic, applied research, local government, and community development contexts. She holds a Master in City Planning from MIT and BA in Urban Studies from Columbia University.
